Very Special Time of The Year
Imagine a line passing through the center of Earth that goes through both the North Pole and the South Pole. This imaginary line is called an axis. Earth spins around its axis, just as a top spins around its spindle. This spinning movement is called Earth’s rotation. At the same time that the Earth spins on its axis, it also orbits, or revolves around the Sun. This movement is called revolution.
For Earth to make one complete revolution around the Sun takes 365.24 days. This amount of time is the definition of one year. The gravitational pull of the Sun keeps Earth and the other Planets in orbit around the Star.
The Earth is the 3rd planet from the Sun between Venus and Mars.
The Earth has several unique properties, characteristics, composition and they all affect the processes of the earth differently. Every one of these properties and elements in Earth’s system are largely categorized into one of the four major subsystems including water, living things, land, and the air. These are regarded as the four interlocking “wonders” that create the earth’s diversity.
