When we go through trials and tribulations, God waits for us to invite Him into our lives so that He can begin working on our behalf. We critically need God to help us with things we can’t do on our own; His presence transforms us. We need to know Him well enough to trust and rely on Him in all situations and circumstances so that we can carry His presence with us wherever we go. We see supernatural manifestations only when we seek God simply for who He is, not for anything we can get from Him.
1. We need an intimate knowledge of God through a personal relationship with Him.
The more we come to know Him, the more we begin experiencing good things we do not deserve.
2. God wants us to have fellowship with Him, enjoy life, and enjoy each other; this is why He wants us to know Him. We develop our relationship with Him through His Word.
3. Just as there are benefits to knowing God, there are stumbling blocks to not knowing Him. Our perception of who God is will determine how we receive from Him. The further away we get from God’s Word, the further away we get from Him.
4. When we know God, we will understand that trouble is bound to show up in the life of a believer; it should be no surprise to us. A real relationship with God leads us to trust Him, and Him alone, when outrageous things happen.
